Dr. Brian Wind started the development of the Steri-write device in 2010 and has been issued 4 US patents related to this novel instrument. Steri-write was conceived in response to a notable increase in hospital and community-acquired infections. Dr. Wind is a scientist and when challenged with any problem, he works to find a viable solution. Thus the idea of the world’s first hands-free writing instrument sanitizer was born.
Dr. Wind is a board-certified ophthalmic surgeon who has practiced general ophthalmology for 25 years in Massillon, Ohio. He serves as President of The Eye Clinic, Inc. and specializes in cataract and laser vision correction surgery. He has numerous publications in scientific journals related to eye research and ophthalmologic topics. He has served in many professional leadership positions including Chief of Staff of Doctors Hospital, Chairman of Physician Leadership Group, Board Member of American Academy of Osteopathic Ophthalmologists, and President of the Eighth District Academy of Osteopathic Medicine.
Along with practicing ophthalmology and striving for excellence in patient care, Dr. Wind also values the importance of education and serves as a Clinical Associate Professor at Ohio University.
